Sister "slow fashion" blogger Elaine Lipson has a great, succinct post today that I want to pass along to anyone who hasn't yet discovered her. Her focus is textiles and well-designed, locally made cloth products, and she summarizes her thoughts on sustainable clothing and textiles in five well-argued points. My personal favorite is #4 - We Buy Too Many Cheap Clothes.

NOTHAL, But HAL-Mom.
Jo, we keep talking about the entropy-ecology-steady-state economics of this in my class with Herman Daly.
My brain hurts but essentially, you are supported by the Second Law of Thermodynamics about lost work (heat) through dissipative forces. If I keep trying hard enough, I will understand. Then we can develop a way-cool dog and pony show about Entropy and Green Fashion: Less is more. String theory too....
I'm a big fan of string....
